One Touch Intelligence’s latest FAST & Curious report from July did not disappoint, full of data pointing to the FAST market’s maturation. Here are the juiciest data points that we found compelling:
· Channel counts among the 15 major US FAST Services are stabilizing with 2,027 distinct channels in all. Amazon Prime leads the pack with 880 channels (growing 31% YOY) followed by Roku with 709 channels (+14 % YOY). Meanwhile Tubi, with its substantial AVOD movie library, maintained its channel count at 174 and Pluto’s channel count dropped 2% to 402.
· Ad loads per hour are hovering between 11-13 minutes with about 5 breaks per hour. Pluto has the highest hourly ad load with 12.9 minutes, while Roku has the lowest at 11.1 minutes.
· Ad repetition, which was a major issue two years ago (see Greg Smith’s AdExchanger article on the topic here), has declined with an average 77.5% unique ads and 22.5% repeat ads. Roku leads the pack with 87% unique ads.
· Paramount is the largest owner of FAST channels with 149, followed by Warner Brothers with 77, which begs the question: will a combined Paramount-WB be forced to shed a few FAST channels?
· A whopping 41% (840) of FAST channels are exclusive to one FAST service provider. Meanwhile 19% of FAST channels are distributed across 5-9 FAST services and only 5% are distributed across 10 or more FAST services.
· Genre-wise, unscripted content leads the category with 22% of programming hours, followed by scripted (18%) and local news (15%).

Ad Impression Growth Continues to Outpace HOV Growth: Amagi Airtime Report
We referenced Amagi’s previous Airtime report in our Q2 newsletter. Amagi has such a significant share in the FAST playout market that we consider their numbers to be a good proxy for the FAST ecosystem as a whole.
